Meet Lady Canady

Reverend Taleeta L. Canady was born and reared in Los Angeles, California where she matriculated through the Los Angeles Unified School District. During her undergraduate studies at California State University of Long Beach, she transferred to the University of North Florida in Jacksonville where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in African American Studies. Reverend Canady continued her studies at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina and earned a Master of Education degree. Immediately thereafter, she was employed by Wilson County Public Schools where she worked as a School Counselor for 11 years.

As a member of Jackson Chapel First Missionary Baptist Church of Wilson, North Carolina, Reverend Canady led the women's ministry, taught Bible Study and Sunday School, and co-facilitated the Marriage Enrichment Ministry alongside her husband. Through her active involvement in church ministry she developed a passion for teaching the Word of God. Upon the direction of the Holy Spirit, Reverend Canady accepted the call to ministry in 2005 and was licensed and ordained to preach the Gospel. She is currently completing the Master of Divinity Program at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.

Reverend Canady has experienced the miraculous healing power of Jehovah Rapha himself through a near fatal attack of the enemy. She attributes her remarkable recovery to speaking the Word of God over her life. As a part of her daily confessions, she quotes Psalm 118:17 "I shall not die but live, and declare the works of the Lord."

She is married to Dr. Darryl T. Canady, Senior Pastor of the Rodman Street Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and from their union they have been blessed with two children, Major Alexander and Essence Cary.

"I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry." (1 Timothy 1:12)
