Each Sunday in February "The Street" will celebrate Black History Month. Pastor Canady is asking that we all come dressed in our African garb on Sunday, February 28^th in celebration of our heritage!

National AIDS Awareness Day is February 7, 2010. Our own Rev. Dr. Marla Johnson will preach the annual AIDS sermon at the 10:30 a.m. service.

A new Evangelism Explosion class begins February 7, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. Contact Sis. Vivian Wilson for more information.

Please sign up in the Reception Room if you are participating in the fast and want to break the fast with your RSMBC family. The Celebration/Praise and Worship for the breaking of the Daniel's Fast will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at "The Street" starting at 7:00 p.m.

Liberia 365: "Dollar a Day" Benefit Concert and Silent Auction is a Jazmine Bailey Graduation Project that will send a child in Liberia to school for one year... all expenses paid! The event will be held at the Pittsburgh CAPA Theater, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. Student tickets are $5 in advance, $10 at the door. Adult tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Seniors(60+) can buy tickets in advance for $8 or at the door for $10. Proceeds from the ticket sales and silent auction go to the Lott Carey Mission School in Liberia, West Africa. Call (412) 758-7644 for ticket info.

The Financial Peace University Orientation has been rescheduled. Join us on February 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to become "debt free to do ministry". Stimulate your own economy with sound Biblical principles on becoming debt free. The average family that went through FPU at the "Street" paid off $2,673.00 in debt and put $1,865 in savings!

The Women of Power and Purpose Ministry presents Hawaii with Norwegian Cruise Lines September 25, 2010 for 8 days and 7 nights. An initial deposit of $350 is required to secure your reservation. Coming in 2010...Operation InAsMuch, Rodman's one-day, hands-on Mission Ministry blitz. The day will be devoted to helping others at their point of need. Profile Forms need to be filled out for all Youth and Young Adults ages 3-25. The forms are located in the Reception Area.

The staff of the Rodman Herald is preparing a church newsletter to be distributed the 1st Sunday of each month. It will be a tool to keep the congregation abreast of upcoming events & news within the RSMBC family. Ministries are requested to submit upcoming ministry news for publication no later than the third Sunday of each month. Just a friendly reminder... Baby Dedications are held 2nd and 4th Sunday's. You must call the church office to schedule an appointment (412-363-8082).

Prayer Concerns? Our Prayer Request Box is available to you. It is located in the vestibule under the bulletin board. Please fill free to place your requests in the box so that the Intercessory Prayer Ministry can lift them up to the Lord on your behalf. The Youth & Young Adult Ministry invites youth 20 and under to participate in The New Era Karar Dance Ministry. The ministry meets Thursdays in the Lower Auditorium starting at 6:00 p.m.

Rodman's After School Program (R.A.S.P.) needs adults and high school students (16 years or older)to volunteer their help in the following areas: homework, arts & crafts, aerobics, serving snacks, leading devotions, etc. If you are available between the hours of 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., please contact Mona Morphis at 412-363-8082 ext.36 or mmorphis@rodmanstreetchurch.org

Community Bulletin Board...

If you are looking for quality childcare, the Rodman Day Care Center is the place to be. We are taking applications for 2008/2009 school year for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age. If you are interested, please call 412-363-8082.

The Rodman After School Program (R.A.S.P.) caters to children from kindergarten through sixth grade for tutoring, homework assistance and much more. Snacks and transportation are provided. The program is open Monday - Friday from 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Enrollments for the program are being accepted now. Childcare subsidies are accepted.
